The Stewart Title Attorney Referral (STAR) Network is a business alliance between Stewart Title Latin America and attorneys for the enhancement of the real estate transaction process. Through this alliance Stewart Title and local attorneys collaborate to provide real estate purchasers and lenders with the unique combination of local legal expertise and internationally backed title and escrow protections.
Held every other year the STAR Network Conference brings together U.S. and international lawyers responsible for Latin American and Caribbean real estate matters who hope to foster new business and referral relationships. In 2007 attendance was up from 180 in 2005.
Speakers and panelists included principals, partners and shareholders from some of the most prominent law firms located in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as prominent financial and development experts. CLE credit was offered.
The keynote speaker was Richard Lapper, Latin America Editor of The Financial Times.
Stewart Title Latin America (STLA) CEO Christopher Hill hosted the conference.
